[The Hwankyung Ilbo] A special law has been submitted to the National Assembly for the legal basis for the establishment and operation of state-led public waste management facilities.

Representative Lim Yi-ja of the Liberty Korea Party, a member of the Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly, initiated a special law on waste resource management facilities and support for residents.

The special law stipulates the establishment and operation of state-led public waste management facilities and includes the establishment of a social safety net and eco-friendly waste resource management through collaboration such as support for residents and profit sharing.

In addition, the special law stipulates that the installation and operation institutions should create a special fund for residents in the areas to improve the welfare of the residents, and that the residents in the adjacent areas should be allowed to invest in projects for the installation of waste disposal facilities, allocating operating profit.
