[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Environment signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards and the Korea Consumer Agency on June 27 to share and utilize consumer risk information.

This business agreement was promoted to promptly respond to the harm caused by the product and to prevent the spread of the risk, and it is an example of promoting collaboration among agencies for government innovation.

In accordance with the agreement, the Korea Consumer Agency will share 70,000 cases of hazard information collected through the consumer risk monitoring system in real time with the agreement organizations such as the Ministry of Environment from July.

Three organizations, including the Ministry of Environment, access the information sharing system to check the safety of products and check for harmful information that is constantly being uploaded.

The Ministry of Environment plans to periodically monitor consumer risk information on life chemical products to expand the list of safety products subject to safety checks and to improve existing safety standards and labeling standards.
