KMA to cooperate with the National Institute of Fisheries to reduce fishery damages'폭염 고수온 어업피해, 부처 공동 대응'

[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) and the National Institute of Fisheries Science will strengthen cooperation to reduce fishery damages caused by the summer heat and high temperatures.

The Korea Meteorological Administration plans to minimize damage to fish farms by integrating observation data from 44 wave observation buoys of the Korea Meteorological Administration and existing observational data from the National Institute of Fisheries Science, and by providing real-time water temperature information to fishermen.

It has succeeded in producing artificial intelligence-based high-temperature forecast data using deep learning on waters affected by farm damages by co-using data produced by the two organizations this year, and the organizations plan to use it to respond to high temperatures this summer.

In order to produce detailed ocean forecast information, the Internet network will be established to link the data of the Korea Meteorological Administration's high-resolution ocean and atmospheric numerical model real-time data with the National Institute of Fisheries Science's high-temperature forecast system.
