[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Seoul Metropolitan Government will invest 548.9 billion won, including this year's supplementary budget, in this year's sewage pipe maintenance project.

The amount is an increase of 152.7 billion won from last year's 396.2 billion won and 43.6 billion won in supplementary budget will be spent quickly to repair 31 kilometers of the sewage system.

In particular, Seoul has been actively spending its budget since 2018 in order to address living inconvenience caused by sewage in private land and minimize property damage.

Starting in July this year, the government will execute the extra budget so that it can strengthen efficiency such as revitalizing the local economy and creating more jobs.

“We will make efforts to prevent roadblocks and flood damage and to address civil life inconveniences caused by odors through active technical support and budgeting in the sewage sector,” said an official of the Seoul government.
