8 out of 10 Koreans say fine dust is seriously affecting their lives'한국인 80%, 미세먼지로 생활에 심각한 영향'

[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Nielsen Korea conducted a survey on the perception of Koreans about fine dust and announced the results.

The survey was conducted online between Feb. 15 and 25 on 1,000 adult males and females aged between 19 and 70 in Korea, with a 95% confidence level and a maximum tolerance margin of ±3.1%.

According to the survey, 8 out of 10 Koreans said fine dust is seriously affecting their lives, and more than 52.3% of the respondents said they have postponed or canceled daily and work activities due to fine dust. These experiences were higher in 'women (54.7%)' than in 'men (50.0%)' and highest in those in their 30s (63.6%).

The respondents who said "health has deteriorated due to fine dust and worries" was the highest in '30s (17.2%)'. It is analyzed that the negative impact of fine dust on real life is most felt in the '30s' age group, followed by 20s (16.0%), over 50s (9.9%) and 40s (8.7%).

Regarding the method of confirming fine dust information, 31.8% of respondents said they look it up when they need it through Internet search. 30.3% of respondents said they always look for information through the app, and 29.6% said they confirm the information on the previous day through the press release.
