[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The 23rd Korea-China Joint Committee on Environmental Cooperation will be held from January 23 to 24 in Seoul to discuss ways to strengthen environmental cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two countries will discuss issues and concerns in the environment, while the director-general meeting will discuss cooperation projects in the fields of air, water, and soil, and the operation committee will discuss operation plans of the Korea-China Environmental Cooperation Center in 2019.

The joint committee will introduce national environmental policies and exchange opinions on air pollution including fine dust and yellow dust, prevention and management of water pollution, environmental industry and technology and marine pollution, and regional cooperation measures (NEASPEC and TEMM), which are of interest to both countries.

The joint committee has been promoting cooperation projects in all areas of the environment, including research on environmental technologies and marine environment, in accordance with the Korea-China Agreement on Environmental Cooperation signed in 1993.
