In this meeting, it was agreed that the solar power industry should make efforts to increase the efficiency of utilization of the land and environment friendliness in order to expand renewable energy and increase public acceptance.

In addition, the participants of the meeting agreed that it is necessary to review the introduction of the minimum efficiency system for photovoltaic panels in order to ensure the quality of solar energy products distributed on the market.

While strengthening environmental standards may raise some costs, the industry judged that overall business projects will become more active due to the public's increased acceptance and decided to speed up technology development in accordance with the government's policy direction.

"In 2018, the domestic solar energy market grew by more than 50% over the previous year (1.3GW)," said an official of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. “Last year was a year that focused on increasing supply of solar energy and this year solar energy industry should strive to strengthen competitiveness as well as secure acceptance of the public.”
