90% of maritime accidents found to be caused by human error'해양사고 90% '인재' 안전불감증 심각'

[The Hwankyung Ilbo] With 90 percent of the causes of maritime accidents being human error, there are growing voices calling for various projects related to maritime safety and education support for ship workers to prevent maritime accidents.

Analysis of data submitted the the Democratic Party's Representative Oh Young - hoon from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries showed that accidents such as collision ▷ contact ▷ stranding caused by human error increased every year.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries runs a project to help prevent maritime accidents every year to ensure a safe marine transport environment.

However, detailed breakdown by function reveals that the budget for the "human error prevention project" in 2017 and 2018 was carried forward or insufficiently used despite the steady increase in marine accidents of vessels.
