[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Environment announced that the budget for 2020 was finalized at the plenary session of the National Assembly on December 10.

The Ministry of Environment's budget and fund for 2020 is 9.539 trillion won, a 21.5% increase from 7.849 trillion won this year.

The government focused its financial capabilities on projects to faithfully guarantee the basic rights of the people, such as clean air and clean water, and arranged for the prompt resolution of urgent environmental issues such as the stable treatment of illegal and harmful waste and chemical safety.

The Ministry of Environment's budget and fund increased by 183.2 billion won compared to the government's proposal during the parliamentary deliberation process.
