[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The government signed a memorandum of understanding on August 13 to resolve the water problem in the Nakdong River.

Related agencies, including Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do, agreed to cooperate with each other to resolve the water problem in the downstream areas of the Nakdong River.

The government and the two local governments will actively participate in and cooperate with the research on the Nakdong River integrated water management plan, which has been in place since March in order to come up with measures to manage integrated Nakdong River Basin.

The government plans to present an optimal water use system through research based on the participation of neutral experts (water quantity, water quality and drinking water) and collecting opinions from local governments, with the main priority of improving the water quality of the Nakdong River.
