[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Forest cooperation with Costa Rica, a leading forest environment country in Central America, will begin.
The Korea Forest Service announced that it will sign a memorandum of understanding on Korea-Costa Rica forest cooperation at the Arenal Volcano National Park in Costa Rica on July 29 (local time).
Major cooperation includes forest conservation, forest protection and forest management, the promotion of awareness of forest ecosystem services in forests, and the exchange of experience and knowledge on forest policies.
With the cooperation, the two countries plan to strengthen joint research and human exchanges in research and management of biodiversity and ecology, and contribute to forest conservation and regional economic development.
Costa Rica is known as an exemplary forest environment preservation country in the fields of biodiversity and ecological research and management and in environment conservation policies.
