[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Environment said it will conduct a special inspection of sewage treatment facilities at campsites across the country from July 22 to September 6 in preparation for the summer vacation season.

Of the approximately 2,300 sites registered as camping sites in the Tourism Promotion Act, the target of inspection is the place where the private sewage treatment facility is installed.

The special inspection will focus on the unauthorized discharge of sewage from the campsite and on the proper operation and management of individual sewage treatment facilities.

The main check points include the installation and reporting of personal sewage treatment facilities, the water quality standard for discharge water, the self-measurement of discharge water, the appointment of a technology manager and the internal cleaning of a private sewage treatment facility.
