[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Korea Meteorological Administration said it invited six people, including heads of the three major Asian countries for international development cooperation (Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar), to Korea for a high-level discussion.

The forum was organized to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in weather and climate sectors with key partners of the Asian development cooperation.

The heads of meteorological agencies from four countries discussed ways to cooperate with the Korea Meteorological Administration in strengthening advanced weather technology, finding customized weather and climate services in Southeast Asia, and strengthening weather and climate capabilities.

“This discussion will provide an opportunity to not only fight climate change and prevent weather disasters in Asia, but also to pass on Korea's excellent weather technologies,” said Kim Jong-seok, Administrator of the Korea Meteorological Administration. “In the future, we will strengthen our support for the dispatch of excellent technology and personnel through systematic cooperation with developing countries.”
